1. Tajh Boyd QB Clemson
Last Week: 14/23 169 yards 0 TDs, 1 rushing TD vs South Carolina State (52-13) Next Week: at North Carolina State
Summary: Coming off a big win and performance against Georgia it is understandable that Boyd could have a let down game. If you look at his stats you won't be impressed, however they were playing FCS South Carolina State so Boyd didn't play more than he had to. The main thing is that Clemson won and he's healthy. Boyd remains in the lead based largly off their impressive win over Georgia.
2. Marcus Mariota QB Oregon
Last Week: 199 passing yards 2 TDs, 122 rushing yards 1 TD vs Virginia (59-10) Next Week: vs Tennessee
Summary: It was another easy sailing win for the Ducks against Virginia. Mariota got things going right off the bat with a huge 71 yard TD run for their first score. His 321 yards against the Cavaliers is just eye popping. What makes matters even better for Mariota is that he makes it look so easy. He'll need that to hold this spot, because he has others nipping at his heals.
3. Teddy Bridgewater QB Louisville
Last Week: 23/32 397 yards 4 TDs vs Eastern Kentucky (44-7) Next Week: at Kentucky
Summary: Bridgewater picked up right where he left off with against Ohio in their game against FCS Eastern Kentucky. He threw for almost 400 yards (397) and another 4 touchdown performance. Bridgewater continues to try and prove that he the top quarterback in the nation. And why not, he's been practically flawless so far. But the problem continues to be that they haven't been tested yet. And that won't happen again next week when the Cardinals travel to in state rival Kentucky.
4. Jameis Winston QB Florida State
Last Week: 25/27 356 yards 4 TDs, 1 rushing TD at Pittsburgh (41-13) Next Week: vs Nevada
Summary: There was a ton of hype surrounding Winston's debut and it's safe to say he lived up to it and maybe exceeded it. Against Pittsburgh he threw for over 350 yards and only had two passes hit the ground. Two! And one of those was a drop. Winston is a game changer and he may be the quarterback that can get the Seminoles back into the National Title picture. And if he does that, he'll be right in the thick of this race.
5. Duke Johnson RB Miami
Last Week: 21 carries 59 yards 1 TD vs Florida (21-16) Next Week: BYE
Summary: It was a forgettable game for Duke Johnson against Florida with less than 60 yards rushing. However he still found the endzone and more importantly the Hurricanes won the game. This will move Miami up the rankings and get more eyeballs on this talented runner. He falls a little big, but I'm not ready to give up on him.
Just missed out

Braxton Miller QB Ohio State
It's hard to keep Miller in the top five when he leaves the game early with an injury. It was only a MCL sprain and he should be back next week, however it's not the first time Miller has left a game early and probably won't be his last. Add in that backup QB Kenny Guiton came in and was marvelous makes you wonder if it's the system. Now that may be stretch, but Miller hasn't been dynamic yet and people are starting to question him. He has a long way to go to get that attention back.
