Bowl Preview (Dec 28)

Rutgers Scarlett Knights vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Ever since it's inception, the Pinstripe Bowl has given us some memorable moments.  But I'm not sure this game will live up to those expectations.  Sure this game may excite some fans in the New York City area (Rutgers being in New Jersey and many Notre Dame grads in the city), but this is match up favors Notre Dame by a long shot.  Notre Dame brings in a ton of highly rated defensive prospects that should be able to lock down the Knights. With how poorly Rutgers offense has been this year, this could easily be a shut out.
Prediction:  Rutgers 10 Notre Dame 23

Cincinnati Bearcats vs North Carolina Tar Heels
There is some familiarity for both teams in this game.  Cincinnati returns for the second straight year while North Carolina makes the short trip instate.  Just like most years the Tar Heels will bring an impressive list of NFL talent into this game, no more than TE Eric Ebron.  However Cincinnati is a better team and their 21st ranked passing attack could be too much for a Tar Heel defense that has given up more than 25 points per game.
Prediction:  Cincinnati  North Carolina

Miami Hurricanes vs Louisville Cardinals
Despite only losing one game the Cardinals have completely flow under the radar.  No better way to get some of the luster back than to beat a Miami team that was also once ranked in the top ten.  Miami will be motivated since this is their first bowl after a two year ban because of NCAA violations.  A thing to consider is that Louisville has over  twenty players with south Florida ties who would love nothing more than to beat the Hurricanes.  Add in Louisville's stout defense and the Cardinals should continue their bowl winning streak.
Prediction:  Miami 20 Louisville 27

Michigan Wolverines vs Kansas State Wildcats
Both Michigan and Kansas State come into this game at different places.  Michigan was thought to be able to make a run at the Big 10 Title and a BCS Bowl, while the Wildcats were thinking of rebuilding after losing many of the players from their Fiesta Bowl trip last year.  Instead both teams finished with seven wins and different feelings.  Michigan is the better team on paper, but you have to question whether they just want the season to be over.  That along with a solid Wildcat team we could see Bill Snyder's decade long bowl win draught come to an end.
