Bowl Preview (Dec 30th)

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders vs Navy Midshipman
This game really doesn't bring a whole lot to the table with neither team having any real relevance.  Navy brings in the second rated rushing attack in college football against a team that is giving up 405 yards per game doesn't hold up well for the Blue Raiders.  There isn't much to look for in draft prospects, but keep an eye on QB Logan Kilgore who has an NFL arm and could be a sleeper prospect.
Prediction:  Middle Tennessee  Navy

#10 QB Logan Kilgore   #53 MLB Cody Peterson

Mississippi Rebels vs Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Normally the Yellow Jackets would have a strong advantage because it's so hard to prep for their triple option during a normal weeks schedule.  However with almost a month between games that usually spells trouble and Paul Johnson's teams have struggled as a result.  Will that happen here?  Let's not forget that Ole Miss' offense has struggled lately and they'll still have to score to win this game.  But the Yellow Jackets aren't as good as the past and Ole Miss is a lot better than their record.  Johnson's bowl struggles will continue.
Prediction:  Mississippi 27 Georgia Tech 21

Oregon Ducks vs Texas Longhorns
The big story here is this will be Mack Brown's last game as Texas coach and you know the Longhorns are going to want to send him out a winner.  However this is a Texas team that has been awful against the run and Oregon is rushing for 278 yards per game which is ninth in the nation.  That doesn't spell success for the Longhorns.  I'm not sold on Texas who I think could have easily lost two more more games while the Ducks haven't been as good as past years could look to use this game as a statement.
Prediction:  Oregon 44 Texas 24

Arizona State Sun Devils vs Texas Tech Red Raiders
Expect a high scoring affair in this game with both teams averaging over 35 points per game and both giving up over 25 points per game.  Despite getting handled by Stanford the Sun Devils have all the momentum going into this game and are looking to prove that they could be one of the top teams in the nation next year.  Tech on the other hand is on a five game losing streak after winning their first seven.  Picking this game is as easy as this, Arizona State is a top 5 team while Tech only beat the bottom feeders of the Big 12.  ASU wins big.
