Heisman Watch (Week 14)

Just when we thought the Heisman couldn't get any murkier, it does.  Winston's legal case may not come out till after the votes have to be sent in making voters jobs even harder.  Add in that Clemson, Texas A&M, and Alabama all lose and that greatly affects most of this field.  Where does this race stand?

1. Jameis Winston QB Florida State
Last Week:  19/31 327 yards 3 TDs INT vs Florida (37-7)  Next Week: vs Duke
Summary:  Winston continued to roll in their victory over rival Florida throwing for over 300 yards and three touchdowns.  Winston did start off slow, but was able to get it going and get the win.  The Seminoles just need to beat Duke and they are in the National Title Game.  However just like I stated last week.  Winston's got this award locked up baring a complete clunker and loss against Duke, but the sexual assault charge is looming.  That will be the biggest question this next week.

2. Andre Williams RB Boston College
Last Week:  9 carries for 29 yards TD vs Syracuse (31-34)  Next Game: Bowl
Summary:  Not too often does somebody come out from nowhere in the final weeks to get into the heat of the Heisman Race, but with his continued dominance and a cloudy race it makes more sense.  Williams was averaging 299 yards per game and on pace to break Ron Dayne's rushing record.  But that was before an injury ended his Saturday performance at 29 yards.  That's a tough break for Williams, but his season totals for the year still plead a big case for him.

3.  AJ McCarron QB Alabama
Last Week:  17/29 277 yards 3 TDs vs Auburn (28-34) Next Game: Bowl
Summary:  Yeah the Crimson Tide lost to Auburn, but that was no fault to McCarron.  McCarron traded blows with the Auburn offense all night including a big 99 yard pass to Amari Cooper that gave them the lead in the fourth quarter.  He even drove them down for a late field goal attempt that if good would have won the game.  Instead it cost them the game.  McCarron won't have a conference title game to sway the voters, but it's really hard not to recognize the year he's had.

4. Jordan Lynch QB Northern Illinois
Last Week:  321 yards rushing 3 TDs, 39 yards passing TD 54 yards vs Western Michigan (33-14) Next Week: vs Bowling Green
Summary:  Lynch was on some voters ballots last year and will likely be on them again this year.  And he deserves every vote he gets.  Lynch might be the most valuable player to his team.  Against Western Michigan he broke the record for most yards rushing by a quarterback with 321 yards.  A record he had before.  Lynch doesn't get a lot of hype because he doesn't put up huge passing numbers and he plays in the MAC.  But he has lead the Huskies to two straight undefeated seasons which is hard to do no matter what conference you play in.
