After not scoring a single point in the first quarter the Seminoles broke out and cruised to an easy win over Duke. The win puts them back into the National Title Game for the first time since 1999. Florida State will face off against Auburn and hope to end the SEC's reign of National Titles
2. Auburn Tigers (12-1) LW 3
Auburn's magical season continued with a shootout win against Missouri. Nick Marshall bounced back after a couple of early fumbles and lead the Tigers to 59 points and the SEC Championship. Now with the Ohio State loss the Tigers are in the National Title game without any controversy.
3. Alabama Crimson Tide (11-1) LW 5
When you've won three out of the last four National Titles, anything less than that isn't much of a success. It looked like they'd get there again, but a FG returned for a touchdown gave them their only loss of the season. But they'll go to a BCS Bowl and likely be in the running for a National Title next year.
4. Baylor Bears (11-1) LW 6
With their victory over Texas the Bears are Big 12 Champions. Let that sink in. Baylor a team that was one of the worst programs in a BCS league just won their conference and fished the season with only a single loss. Get use to it, because this program is a well oiled machine now.
5. Missouri Tigers (11-2) LW 4
Even though they lost to Auburn in the SEC Championship, it's been one heck of a season for the Missouri Tigers. Picked to finish sixth in their division they not only won the East, but had only one conference loss. This team is loaded and doesn't look to be going anywhere anytime soon.
6. Michigan State Spartans (12-1) LW 7
Their win ruined the Big 10's chances at a National Title, but the Spartans could care less. They are outright conference champions and will be playing in their first Rose Bowl since 1988. Maybe all those experts that picked them to win their division were on to something.
7. Stanford Cardinal (11-2) LW 10
With a lot of experts picking Arizona State to win this game, Stanford reminded everybody that they demolished the Sun Devils earlier in the season with another dominating victory. The win gives the Cardinal their second straight Pac 12 Title and Rose Bowl appearance.
8. Ohio State Buckeyes (12-1) LW 2
For the first time in two years, the Buckeyes lost a game. This one couldn't have happened at the worst time since Ohio State was on the verge of a National Title appearance. Pretty frustrating, but the Buckeyes are clearly back in the title picture.
9. South Carolina Gamecocks (10-2) LW 9
It was an up and down year for the Gamecocks. An early season loss to Georgia and some too close wins made it look like South Carolina could be in store for a four loss season. However the season turned around when QB Connor Shaw came in to lead a victory over Missouri and they never loss after that.
10. Oregon Ducks (10-2) LW 12
The post Chip Kelly era didn't get of to the way the Ducks thought it would. A favorite to get to the National Title Game just couldn't get past Stanford and then suffered their worst loss in over ten years. Luckily for them QB Marcus Mariota should be back and have the Ducks right in the thick of it again.
11. Clemson Tigers (10-2) LW 13
For the second straight year the Tigers only two losses are to Florida State and South Carolina. Those losses knocked them out of the ACC Title Game and make it tough for them to get into a BCS Game. The Tigers are close to being a power, but still haven't gotten over their hurdles yet.
12. Arizona State Sun Devils (10-2) LW 11
One of the hottest teams going into the Pac 12 Title Game, the Sun Devils just couldn't overcome the poor match up they had with Stanford. But it's been a great season for the Sun Devils who haven't enjoyed this type of success since Jake Plummer was the quarterback.
13. Oklahoma Sooners (10-2) LW 14
Jalen Saunders is going to be a popular man in Norman this week. It was his touchdown reception with 19 seconds left that gave the Sooners the lead and allowed them to knock off the top ten ranked Cowboys in Bedlam. It wasn't a great season for Oklahoma, but beating the Cowboys makes it much better.
14. Oklahoma State Cowboys (10-2) LW 8
At home, against their in state rival, and a shot to win the conference on the line you would think the Cowboys were a lock to win. Instead they allowed a late touchdown reception to lose the lead and the game. Now the loss knocks them out of the BCS. Not the way to end the season.
15. LSU Tigers (9-3) LW 15
Going into this season the Tigers looked like an easy pick to lose four games. Now they did lose three, but the development of Zach Mettenberger was a hue part to their success. But this was also a young Tiger team which only means they'll make a run at the SEC West next year.
16. Central Florida Knights (11-1) LW 16
The cold weather slowed down the Knights, but didn't prevent them from beating SMU and finishing with a perfect record in conference. The Knights only loss was to South Carolina in a close game. The win also secures the Knights place in a BCS Bowl.
17. Wisconsin Badgers (9-3) LW 17
Despite hiring a coach whose known for the spread, the Badgers looked like the same team we've seen for over twenty years. Think about this, they were a horrible call in Tempe and a complete collapse against Penn State away from being 11-1. Next year they won't be in the same division as Ohio State. Just saying.
18. UCLA Bruins (9-3) LW 18
UCLA didn't make it back to the Pac 12 Title Game, but this season is still a success. The Bruins won nine games and knocked off their rival USC for the second straight year. They won games tight games that they've lost in the past. The program is heading in the right direction.
19. Fresno State Bulldogs (11-1) LW 21
They didn't put up fifty plus points but the Bulldogs won the Mountain West Conference Title. Derek Carr threw two picks, but his 404 yards were enough to get past a tough Utah State defense. They can now look forward to the Las Vegas Bowl.
20. Louisville Cardinals (11-1) LW 19
Going into this year the Cardinals were a darkhorse National Title team. But with only one loss they are at the bottom of the top 25. Even with eleven wins Louisville just hasn't looked good bringing up concerns that they really didn't play anybody tough.
With the reigning Heisman Trophy winner back the sky was the limit for the Aggies. However this season was defined by a poor defense that put way too much pressure on Manziel to be flawless, which isn't going to happen. But they extended Kevin Sumlin which is a big victory in it's own right.
22. USC Trojans (9-4) LW 24
What a season it was for the Trojans. We saw Lane Kiffin get fired in the airport following the Arizona State loss and then had Ed Orgeron lead the team to five wins and make a run at keeping the job. They went out and hired Steve Sarkisian in hopes of regaining the glory they had in the early 2000s.
23. Georgia Bulldogs (8-4) LW 25
It's been a pretty disappointing season for the Bulldogs who were hoping to make a run at the SEC Title. However injuries played a huge role and cost them at least two wins. But the defense was young and got a ton of experience for next year.
24. Duke Blue Devils (10-3) LW 22
Even with their blowout loss to Florida State it's already been one of the best seasons in Duke Football history. This wasn't a fluke season, head coach David Cutcliff is one amazing coach and built this program despite being arguably the toughest place to win. Hats off to the Blue Devils
25. Northern Illinois Huskies (12-1) LW 20
With a shot at sneaking into the BCS for a second straight season the Huskies just couldn't finish the season with the MAC Championship. Not only did they lose to Bowling Green, the Huskies got dominated. The loss also raises question that I've had all year that they haven't really beaten anybody.
