Bowl Preview (Jan 2nd - 5th)

Oklahoma State Cowboys vs Missouri Tigers
The Cotton Bowl always has a feel of a BCS Bowl and in this game they pretty much have a BCS Bowl match up as Missouri lost in the SEC Title Game while the Cowboys were a win away from the Big 12 Title. Both teams bring top ranked offenses and some talented players on defense.  You'll get to see one of the best playmakers on defense in Okie State CB Justin Gilbert while the Tigers bring one of the best pass rushers in Michael Sam.  We should see a lot of points, but let's watch how Missouri tries to slow down the Cowboys rushing attack.  They struggled against Auburn and if they found a solution it could give them a win here.
Prediction:  Oklahoma State 38 Missouri 41

Vanderbilt Commodores vs Houston Cougars
After a horrible 2012 season the Houston Cougars had a good bounce back season.  We'll get to see how far their back facing off against a very underrated Vanderbilt team.  The Commodores got eight wins in a very tough SEC and are one of the best coached teams in the nation.  Look for Houston to try and get turnovers with 40 on the season.  However Vandy is very steady and gets the win here.
Prediction:  Vanderbilt 27 Houston 21

Houston

Arkansas State Red Wolves vs Ball State Cardinals
Ladd-Peebles Stadium might as well be Arkansas State's second home with this being the third straight year playing in this game.  But the Red Wolves will be playing without their head coach as Bryan Harsin left for Boise State.  Normally you'd pick against a team like that, but since these players have experienced this with Hugh Freeze and Gus Malzahn you almost have to wonder if they're use to it.  But they'll have to deal with Ball State QB Keith Wenning who broke all of Ball State's passing records and is a potential late round sleeper.  That may be just too much.
Prediction:  Arkansas State 27 Ball State 34

Draft Eligible Players to Watch
Arkansas State
Ball State
#98 DT Ryan Carrethers  #10 QB Keith Wenning
